For more than 30 years, Garden Treasures has been the heart and passion of Melissa Dennison, an herbalist, gardener, and maker devoted to natural wellness. Melissa began her business by selling herb plants and designing herb gardens, but as she studied herbalism, her interests blossomed into crafting skincare and wellness products. Encouraged by family, friends, and neighbors, she expanded her offerings to include soaps, herbal salves, teas, hydrosols, and more—sharing her creations at craft shows, farmers markets, and now through online sales. Melissa is best known for her herbal soaps, made with essential oils and organically grown herbs from her own land, as well as her much-loved lavender products. Her regular product line includes:
Herbal tea blends
Healing salves
Floral hydrosols
Bug sprays
Eye pillows
Lavender gifts such as sachets & keychains
Lavender-centered self-care items
Melissa lives in Braxton County, West Virginia, where she lovingly stewards a 160-acre farm she has tended for more than 42 years. There she operates two greenhouses, grows thousands of herbs annually, and manages a thriving mushroom farm with around 400 shiitake logs. Her dedication to pollinators includes maintaining three large pollinator plots, collecting seeds to donate to local schools and the community. Deeply connected to education and service, Melissa teaches through the WVU Extension and 4-H programs. She celebrates 30 years as a Certified Master Gardener and is a past president and active member of both the West Virginia Herb Association and the local Garden Club. Her work reflects a lifelong devotion to plants, wellness, and community. Melissa is proud to be part of Artistry on Main, where she continues to share the healing power of herbs through her thoughtfully crafted products.
