Nestled on the side of a mountain in a restored country chapel,
Lisa Reed runs Mountainside Chapel Farm—a small hobby farm and workshop where nature, simplicity, and wellness meet. Though she officially founded her business in 2023, Lisa has been creating natural products for more than twenty years, crafting healthier alternatives for her family long before they were part of a larger movement.
Her journey with tallow began in 2022, and it quickly became the heart of her work. Lisa is passionate about helping others move away from the toxic ingredients found in so many modern products—proving that cleaner living doesn’t have to come at a high price. Each balm, soap, and lotion she makes is a reflection of that mission, and she takes joy in hearing how her creations have eased skin conditions, improved hair, encouraged restful sleep, and even made cleaning a safer, gentler experience.
From her mountain home—shared with her husband, two dogs, two cats, and two goats—Lisa continues to expand her work, recently adding a dedicated shop space to bring her ideas to life. Her products can be found throughout West Virginia at The Charm Farm and Artists at Work in Elkins, Trickett’s in Elkins, Canaan Valley Spa and Wellness in Davis, Artistry on Main in Buckhannon, Sunmoon Apparel in Bridgeport, and Mal’s Produce Place in Morgantown.
