Dr. Greenbrier Almond
AUTHOR
For more than thirteen years, Dr. Greenbrier Almond has dedicated two hours each day to writing—a practice that began when his daughter, Maria, announced she was expecting his first granddaughter, Aliza. What started as a personal reflection on family soon became a daily ritual and a lifelong passion for storytelling.
A proud lifelong resident of Buckhannon, West Virginia, Dr. Almond draws deep inspiration from the stories of mountain life and the resilient spirit of Appalachian families. His work often celebrates the people, history, and traditions of his beloved mountain home.
As a physician, Dr. Almond brings a thoughtful eye to the human experience, writing about health, wellness, and the mysteries of medicine. For the past twelve years, he has shared his insights through a weekly column in The Record-Delta newspaper, blending compassion, humor, and wisdom in each piece.
His love of writing reaches back to his days at Buckhannon-Upshur High School, where he served as Copy Editor of the Buckongahelas Yearbook and President of the Quill and Scroll Writing Honorary. Following the path set by his father, Dr. Harold David Almond, who published his own book later in life, Greenbrier continues that legacy—carrying forward a family tradition of reflection, curiosity, and heart.
