Drawing the Anatomy of the Face

6-8 p.m.
Learn how to draw Parts of the face i.e. nose, eyes, ears, and lips. Each will be addressed individually and in part with each other. Students will begin to sketch lightly and then add more refinement through line and shading to show volume. The tools of sketching will also be addressed.
Students will learn how to observe and transfer their observation on to paper to achieve a likeness. They will be able to add volume (3-dimensionality) to the parts of the face.
The students will learn about the construction of the face for a drawing and how to apply shadow, highlights. Attention will also be given to varied faces, skin color, varied positions of the facial parts. Students will practice on paper.
If time allows they will also draw from a live model.
There will be some lecture and demonstration, but most of the time the student will be drawing. (Lecture/demonstration/hands-on/etc.)
Materials:
The student can bring a favorite Sketchbook or (all purpose) paper, favorite drawing pencils (or a #2), erasers or smudging tools. Materials will be available if needed.
