Handwoven From Heartstrings
Carol Williams

Carol Williams of Weston, West Virginia, has been weaving since 2014, creating handwoven textiles on traditional countermarch floor looms. She first discovered her passion for weaving through the Jackson’s Mill Fiber Arts Guild in Lewis County, where she learned the fundamentals that would soon grow into a lifelong creative pursuit. Since then, Carol has continued to expand her skills through classes at weaving studios across the country, always eager to explore new techniques and challenges.
As an active member of the Jackson’s Mill Guild, Carol now teaches beginner-level floor loom weaving and frequently demonstrates both weaving and spinning at fiber arts events throughout central West Virginia. She finds deep satisfaction in sharing the craft with others, passing along the joy and rhythm of working with fiber by hand.
Carol’s work reflects a balance between tradition and exploration. While her early focus was on weaving sturdy, colorful rugs from cotton fabric and wool, she has more recently fallen in love with the intricate beauty of complex patterns found in towels and table linens. Each piece she weaves is a study in texture, pattern, and patience—crafted with care and meant to bring warmth and artistry into the home.
A proud member and vendor at Artistry on Main in Buckhannon for the past three years, Carol continues to inspire others with her dedication to the timeless art of weaving.
